Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Eliminate Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced interruptions to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and applying sanctions," he wrote in a social media post.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles targeted energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Area administrators said the city experienced intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child lost their life and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes follow nights of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
