It's difficult for Australia to break new ground.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and once went over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a side that has won it all.

It needed until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if never given the opportunity.

In the end, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to deliver her most recent brilliance.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the assurance to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if we do, we believe we can succeed."

That comment will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this tournament should hear.

In recent days a sense they will win from any position has grown stronger - this success following win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.
